One of the more compelling aspects of the early Line Engraved stamps of Great Britain is that it is possible to 'Plate' them.  

This involves identifying which of the over 400 printing plates used over a 40 year period was used to print a particular stamp.  

Paul's ZOOM presentation provided us an introduction to this subject.  He reviewed the characteristics of the stamps that allow plating to be undertaken, and showed us the resources and techniques he uses.
