We hope you enjoyed this evening's Zoom session as by our special guest Jeri Danyleyko who gave us a presentation on Real Photo Railway Postcards.
Real photo postcards (RPPCs) are actual photos printed on to special photo paper, manufactured specifically for postcards. Â
The paper was coated with light sensitive emulsion on one side and had the appropriate lines, markings and stamp boxes printed on the rear. Â
Jeri's Zoom presentation focused on the background and history of real photo postcards with an emphasis on the Canadian railway industry. It covered: stations, roundhouses and railway yards. Real photo postcards were produced from about 1905 to the early 1970s. You can visit her website for more:
