We hope you enjoyed this evening's Zoom session as by our special guest Jeri Danyleyko who gave us a presentation on Real Photo Railway Postcards.
Real photo postcards (RPPCs) are actual photos printed on to special photo paper, manufactured specifically for postcards.
The paper was coated with light sensitive emulsion on one side and had the appropriate lines, markings and stamp boxes printed on the rear.
Jeri's Zoom presentation focused on the background and history of real photo postcards with an emphasis on the Canadian railway industry. It covered: stations, roundhouses and railway yards. Real photo postcards were produced from about 1905 to the early 1970s. You can visit her website for more:
