The release of a couple of recent research books sheds some interesting light on two mysteries of British Line Engraved Philately: the c1854 so called "Government Perforation Trial" stamps, and the famous Plate 77 stamps from the four corner letter issue, regarded as Britain's most valuable stamp.

Paul's ZOOM presentation will provide the background on these two stamps that were never intended to be released, and share the current thinking on how they came to be.
